Prayers Please

Pray for the Manross family. All I can muster up to say right now is that Hodges is not doing well today. He is breathing only by a machine. He is a sweet little angel, the same age as Dalton.

Gettin' All Domestic (Recipe)

I like to swap recipes . . . you know, when I do actually cook! But I've borrowed a few from others lately, and I wanted to share this one that I found myself. I am trying to do better and cook more and go out less! That will be best for our waste line and our checkbook!

This recipe was a hit with my boys! They both kept asking for more! I didn't have all the exact ingredients so I improvised and it was still great. I will note the things that I improvised!

Chicken Alfredo

1/2 of a 16 ounce package linguine (I used a 14 ounce of whole wheat penne)

1 cup fresh or frozen broccoli florets (I used frozen)

2 tablespoons butter

4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves, cut into 1 1/2-inch pieces (I used the individually frozen "Great Value" chicken breasts in the bag)

1 can (10 3/4 ounces) Campbell's® Condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup (Regular, 98% Fat Free or Healthy Request®)

1/2 cup milk

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

  • Prepare the linguine according to the package directions in a 3-quart saucepan. Add the broccoli during the last 4 minutes of the cooking time. Drain the linguine mixture well in a colander.
  • Heat the butter in a 10-inch skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook until well browned and cooked through, stirring often.
  • Stir the soup, milk, cheese, black pepper and linguine mixture in the skillet and cook until the mixture is hot and bubbling, stirring occasionally. Serve with additional Parmesan cheese.

We had the frozen cheese-filled garlic breadsticks and salad.

Been a while

since I posted a video. I can't find my USB cable for the video camera, so I took this short one on my digital camera. Just to show my lil' red off! :) Notice who he loves . . . .

Sunny Day, Windy Day

Here at the House of Payne, we have been enjoying the sunny days, although they have been few and far between (and a little too windy)!
Dalton enjoyed riding in his new wagon to the playground and the lake!

Happy 51st, Mom/Mimi!!! (1/17/10)

Almost done . . .

with playing "catch-up"! And I promise to not get quite so behind.

Just for a quick update.

Dalton is walking like crazy. He started walking a little bit as soon as he turned 13 months, but now at 14 months, he only walks . . . all the time! No crawling for this boy. He figured out that he can also run, which sort of looks like godzilla walking really fast, and get places much quicker. (Like when he hears someone in the snack cabinet or fridge, or his bathwater running, or the voice of someone he LOVES) It's so cute.

Started going to a new pediatrician. Thanks to Erica! I loved Dr. Chen and I think Dalton did too, after he realized he wasn't there for shots! She was great with him and great with me too. Answered all my questions and was very pleasant, and get this, she actually listened. Something I'm not used to with Dalton's old docs. So that went great, and she said Dalton's ear infection was clearing up nicely. Will follow up for a 15 month check up.

Also, I feel like nobody reads this sometimes and maybe nobody cares if I'm behind on my postings or not. So please, if you read this, COMMENT so that I will know I'm not just writing for nothing. :) Sometimes I think that is the case. To the maybe 2 people that do comment, thank you. I do this for ya'll! It only takes a sec to comment, and if you don't, then I don't know you're reading this. I need encouragement to continue. I do enjoy it!

Snow Day= Sick Day (1/8/10)

Let it snow!
but please let me go out, Mommy!

As you can see, baby boy was battling an ear infection on this special day that Daddy got to stay home to "play", so we just put on gloves inside and looked out the window at the pretty snow!
